Central Minnesota Mega Meet

Date: Saturday, May 7th, 2016

Start Time: 9:30 am field, 10:30 am running

Location: Sauk Rapids/ Rice Middle School 901 S 1st

Admission: $6 Adults $4 Students

Bus Information: Drop participants off by the main gate and concession stand and park in the front of the building on the west side of parking lot outside of door 1. Please do not drive a bus inside the fenced in areas. 

Coaches Meeting: 8:45 am meeting inside the school door #9 turn right look for signs

Teams: Albany, St. Cloud Apollo, St. Cloud Cathedral, Centennial, Foley, Litchfield, Little Falls, Sauk Rapids-Rice, St. Cloud Tech, St. Cloud Christian School, St. Francis, Monticello, and North Branch.

Entries: 3 entries per event and 1 relay (No Prelims) Fully Automatic Timing will be used. Please have Hy-Tek entries emailed by 6:00 pm on Thursday, May 5th to: loren.finlayson@isd47.org. Coaches will be sent an event file for the meet to import into team manager. Athletes listed in relays will be put in the meet program. Scratch & Add: All Scratches and Adds must be emailed before 5:00 pm on Friday, May 6th.  Please double check all entries for accuracy. No additions or editing of seed times/distances on Saturday. Only scratches on Saturday.

Scoring: 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1 for individuals and relays

Spikes: 1/ 8 inch pyramid or less. Anything else will result in a DQ from event.

Marks: No tape will be allowed on the track or jumps. Relays should use tennis balls or chalk.

Workers: One coach from each school will be needed to judge an exchange zone.

Clerking: will be held on the north side of the track.

Field Events: We will start at 9:30 with: Girls- long jump, discus, and high jump. Boys-  triple jump, shot put, high jump, and pole vault. Pole vault and high jump will be run in 3 or 5 alive format. We will have 2 high jump pits so both boys and girls can start at 9:30. Starting heights will be determined by entries and usually start high. Long and Triple Jumps will be in flights with 4 attempts. Shot Put and Discus will be in flights, 3 attempts with finals. Please weight in implements in  the concession stand by 9:00 am. At about 12:00 or 12:30 the second session will begin and 15 minutes will be allowed for warm ups.

Results: will be posted under the stadium on the board. All results should be available 5 minutes after the conclusion of the meet to take home. They will also be posted at: stormtf.blogspot.com by 6:00 PM on Saturday. Live results can be found at: http://rpmresults.orgfree.com/megameet/

Team Camps: will be outside of the track. Keep camps on the south end of the track or along the east side of the school.  Please stay off the infield no camps or tents on the north end of the track. There is no access to the middle school, please stay out.

Awards: Coborns Sheet Cake Trophies will be awarded to the top three boys and girls teams. Medals will be awarded to the top 4 places and ribbons through 8th place.

Rosters & Numbers: I will download rosters from the MSHSL site and assign numbers. CLC SCHOOLS: If you want to email me your rosters in Hytek format including the CLC comp#s, I’ll use those. Deadline for this is Monday, Ap25, noon.You will need to have the number written on the athletes hand in large print so it is facing the meet official when the arm is extended.
Entries: 400 and down = 6 per event 800 and UP = unlimited
Relays = unlimited Jumps = unlimited Shot = unlimited Discus = 6
Entry Seeding: We will seed according to time at the clerking area and run the fastest heat first. Please have your athletes ready with their season-best time.
DISCUS – I will email a link next week for you to go to for entering your discus throwers. That will allow us to flight them for the purpose of meet efficiency. The deadline for that entry will be Wednesday, 8pm.
Workers: One adult worker per school. If we can staff the events with our personnel we will. But please be prepared for one adult from your school to work.
Order of Events: Normal track order. Field Events: Boys/Girls LJ/TJ cafeteria style (separate runways) 4:15pm-7:15pm. Boys Pole Vault, Boys Discus, Girls Shot, Girls High Jump will be first.
Spikes: 1/4th inch only!! We prefer no 1/8th as those aren’t good for the track
CHALK only will be allowed on the track or runways. No tape is allowed on the track/runways and, if used,
will be removed.
Please do not camp on the infield of the track and remind your athletes that they should only be on the infield if they are warming up for an event. Absolutely no shots or discs on the infield of the track.

1. Entries: Unlimited relays and hurdles and field events. Top relay from each team scores. Hurdles and field events will combine top 3 from each team for scoring.
2. Scoring: 5, 3, 1
3. Only 1/8” pyramid spikes may be used.  
4. Automatic Timing will be used.  Please send Hy-tek rosters to Loren Finlayson at loren.finlayson@isd47.org by Monday, April 18th otherwise I will take your roster off the MSHSL site.

INFORMATION:

Ø  Please stay off the infield unless warming up for an event.  NO TEAM CAMPS on the football field.

Ø  Participants may use no longer than 1/4 inch pyramid spikes.

Ø  Each team will be allowed 3 entries per event and 1 relay team.  We will be taking your rosters off the MSHSL website and assigning each athlete a number. Mr. Marcussen will email the coaches a list with the athlete’s competition numbers. Competitor numbers will be written on back of the hand. I will have extra copies of Competition Number lists in case you do not get yours via email.  PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN MARKERS. 

Ø  100/110 M Hurdles, 100 M Dash, & 200 M Dash:  Three or four heats will be run in each event with the first heat being the “fast” heat.  Please enter your fastest runner in the first heat, 2^nd fastest in second heat, etc.

Ø  Shot Put & Discus: 4 throws. No Prelims.

Ø  Long Jump & Triple Jump:  One 1 hour 15min. time limit. 4 Jumps..

Ø  Starting height of Pole Vault and High Jump will be decided prior to start of meet.  We will use a “five alive” format.

Ø  Calls will be given prior to each event.  Final calls will be approx. 5 minutes before each event.  Running events take priority over field events.  Wait for second call to report to your running event.

Specific Limitations:  This meet is for your Freshman & Sophomore athletes only.
Schools Participating:  Big Lake, Becker, Foley, Princeton, Saint Michael-Albertville,                              Sauk Rapids-Rice
Awards:  Medals for 1st through 6th place individual.  Ribbons for 1st through 3rd place                  relay teams.
Numbers:    We’ll be using your rosters from the MSHSL website to give your athletes numbers for the meet scoring software.  Coaches: Make sure your rosters are up to date.  Pick up your numbered rosters when you arrive at the meet (press box).  Numbers will be written on the back of the athletes’ hands.
Scoring:  Team scores will not be kept at this meet.    Concessions:  Will be available.
