BIG LAKE FRESHMAN-SOPHOMORE INVITATIONAL TRACK MEET
Thursday, April 7th, 2016

Running Events Start @ 4:10 PM
Entries: 5 per event/1 relay team: unlimited entries in 100m dash and 1600m run.
Specific Limitations:  This meet is for your Freshman & Sophomore athletes only.
Schools Participating:  Big Lake, Becker, Foley, Princeton, Saint Michael-Albertville,                              Sauk Rapids-Rice
Awards:  Medals for 1st through 6th place individual.  Ribbons for 1st through 3rd place                  relay teams.
Numbers:    We’ll be using your rosters from the MSHSL website to give your athletes numbers for the meet scoring software.  Coaches: Make sure your rosters are up to date.  Pick up your numbered rosters when you arrive at the meet (press box).  Numbers will be written on the back of the athletes’ hands.
Scoring:  Team scores will not be kept at this meet.    Concessions:  Will be available.
OTHER MEET INFORMATION:
*  1/8” pyramid spikes only!
*  Clerking for all running events will be done at the top of the track (North end of straight away) 
* We are limited to one runway for long jump and triple jump.  Athletes are responsible for completing jumps within time constraints, missing jumps will be scratched.

                Girls Discus, followed by Boys
                Girls High Jump, followed by Boys
                Boys Pole Vault, followed by Girls
                Girls & Boys Long Jump-3 attempts(Cafeteria style)                        
               * pit will close by end of the boys 1600 m Run
                4:10 PM:    Running Events will start with the Girls 4 x 800 Relay
                Boys & Girls Triple Jump-3 attempts(Cafeteria style)                       
                * pit will close at 7:00 PM, or at the end of the 3200 - which ever comes first

Meet Information

TEAMS: Alexandria, Brainerd, Fergus Falls, ROCORI, St. Cloud Apollo, St. Cloud Tech, Sartell-St. Stephen, Sauk Rapids-Rice, Willmar 

ROSTER SUBMISSION: We will be pulling the Rosters for each team from the MSHSL Site. Please have all possible athletes entered into the MSHSL Roster by 3/28/16. We will send out Athlete Numbers by Thursday Morning. The number should be written on each athletes hand. These numbers will be used to develop heat and flight sheets and to print results.

ENTRIES: See time schedule sheet for entry limits

RUNNING EVENTS:    -Heat and lane assignments random draw

                                    -All events are timed finals (fast heat first)

                                    -Clerk at the NW corner of the field house

FIELD EVENTS:           -Enter individuals at the site using assigned number

-LJ and TJ are run cafeteria style

-Shot Put entries will be random draw when they sign up.

-Shot Put weigh-in at throwing sector beginning at 7:30 am

           

SCORING:    10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1 all events

STARTER/REFEREE:       Lee Fitzharris

GAMES COMMITTEE:   Brainerd, Alexandria, and Apollo.  Head coaches: boys handle boys events, girls handle girls events

TRACK FACILITIES: ¼” max pyramid or tree spikes (no pin spikes)

WORKERS: Each school will provide workers to cover an event area. This includes assistant helpers needed to run event efficiently.

Practice attire is expected as this is not a meet. _ Pick a color t-shirt for your team to wear – It will better help you ID your athletes – Especially in the 55 dashes.
Filed event heights and jumps will not be recorded.
Vertical Jumps – Bare will be moved up in set times periods – Each athlete will be done after three misses in a row – for safety of athlete trying a height that they should not attempt
Horizontal jumps – Three jumps total – Distances not to be recorded – but measured and read out load.
