clothing order due March 5th- Equipment move

Early clothing orders are due March 5th. Second order due March 12th. This early date will ensure that we have our clothing before the CLC Indoor.

Thursday, March 8th we will be moving equipment into the west gym at the middle school after school. We need everyone who can help to be there.

2 weeks to go

Practice starts in 2 weeks, so of course we will have a snow storm this week. Captain's practice begins on 2-27 after school. Get your clothing order in and make sure all forms and fees are turned in before the first day of practice. If you know of anyone who missed the meeting last week- send them to me for the info they need.

Track Clothing

Order your track clothing now at Rambow.com, store code is stormtrack. You order online and pay with a credit card. You can also print out an order form and mail it in. Early order is due March 5th so we can have our stuff by the CLC Indoor.

Track Meeting Thursday

Everyone interested in track should attend a meeting Thursday, Feb. 23rd at 7:50 in the weight room.

Track work underway

The resurfacing of the track is in progress. The new surface promises to be nice and fast. It has me already looking forward to spring. Thanks to all who were part of the process in making that happen.

 We have also been working on some other improvements to our track and field complex. A new slab was laid for another discus circle. We had the triple jump runway replaced- it was heaving up and uneven. There was some concrete repair work done to one of the jump pits. A practice runway was made for the pole vault, which will mean less switching of the pits for practice. Cable was run from the finish line to the press box for our timing system which means no more running cable over the track or hoping the wireless system works. A huge thanks to Pete, Rod, Aaron, Scott McCabe and anyone else who helped with those projects.

Academic Awards

The Boys and Girls Storm Track and Field teams both received the Gold Award for team academic performance for the 2011 season. The award is sponsored by McDonald's and the Minnesota High School Coaches Association.  Great job team!
